About the Artist
Anthony Swartwood grew up in the Greater Binghamton area of Broome County in upstate
New York. Tony’s natural abilities and key eye for design were evident very early
in life through his sketches. Tony began to sharpen his skills through art lessons
taught at Binghamton's Robertson Museum of Art beginning at age 9. Tony continued
his development though art education and sketching throughout his teen years.
Tony studied at Munson Williams Proctor Art Institute in Utica, New York and also
earned a degree in Fine Arts/Computer Graphics from Broome Community College. After
working successfully as a Commercial Artist in Tampa for many years, Tony is now
devoting his full energy to developing his talents in the Tampa Bay area.
Currently, Tony lives in Tampa, Florida and has begun to display his works in various
Tampa area art shows and venues. Tony recently won first place at aTampa Bay Realistic
Artist’ show that featured his cityscape, “Deep Downtown.” Tony recently participated
in the 2009 Gasparilla Festival of the Arts, in the special “Emerging Artist” category.
Tony hopes to continue expanding his opportunities to reach his full potential as
an artist and to impact others along his journey.
